Just before I start applying properly, it's probably worth mentioning my current main character, Mcjimbo, is on the Nagrand-Eu realm. I'm transferring to the realm which has a guild that wants me, since it would be a waste of time and money to move to a realm only to find there are no spots for me... trust me, I know
Anyway, I'm rambling so on with the application.
Some personal info:
Name and Age: Matt, and 18
Currently living in the city of Southampton, South England
Interests: Painting, creative stuff like that, Music and of course, WoW!
Occupation: Nothing serious right now, just a part-time job that pays for food and clothing which I'm happy with right now
Hours and days that you are available for raiding during the week? Anything that can influence your playtimes (now or during the near future) ? I should be available for all raids, if not I will try to contact an officer but obviously if it's a major emergency this may not be possible. I get home at 1745-1800 ST so I'll be on for all raids hopefully.
Can you commit fully and long-term to the guild's raiding times? Please note that the spots offered are full time at 90% of the cases, a reset without the expected attendance will lead to removal. All i can think of saying here is yes, I can
Connection/computer information: Afraid I can't list a full report of my computers stats, all I can really say is that it's very new, with huge graphics capabilities and memory... hmm. My latency is always at 100-150, reaching a peak of 200ms in a busy 25 man fight, so no DC problems there. FPS has always stayed at 50-60, never gone above or below that so once again, no problems.
Reason for applying to Unstable Connections: To be totally honest, simply because of what I've heard from trade and a few of your members, since I'm on a different server I'm not too connected with the guilds on the server. From what I've seen on the forum and what I've heard you seem like exactly what I want: A serious but friendly guild that is ready to take any challenge by the teeth untill it wins.
Reason for leaving your previous guild: Hmm, simply because they were no longer raiding at the standard I would have liked, and they shortly disbandend after my departure anyway
Tell us about yourself: Well, I suppose this isn't really the kind of thing you can say about yourself but I'm a pretty nice guy ( I think? ). I'll help out any members of the guild if they're in a jam, and I'll always stick up for people if they're being treated unfairly, whether they are friend or foe. One thing about me you could call negative is that I'm very competitive- If someone is better than me at someone, I don't let it stay that way for long, not if I can help it! This is probably why I always strive to achieve in whatever I do, inside WoW and outside... well that was fairly awkward to write... hmm
What are you looking from raiding with UC? Please try put the following in the order of your preference (as many hours of raiding as possible, realm ranking, socializing, gearing, exploring content, hardmodes, achievements): What I want is a guild, as I said before, that mixes together serious, fairly hardcore raiding, with a friendly atmosphere out of raiding. As to the list of importance, I'd have to say it goes like this:
Socializing, exploring content, hardmodes, gearing, realm ranking, achievements (Wtf is the point of them anyway? Blizz come up with some craaazy ideas).
Character Data:
Armoury Link:http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Nagrand&n=Mcjimbo
Class: Warrior, prot/arms
Pvp experience: Very little, I did a bit of arena at level 70 and the odd BG but nothing serious, PvE forever!
Pre TBC:
Nothing while level 60, I started playing during TBC
TBC: Kara, Gruul, Maggy, TK, SSC, all before WotLK
Wrath:
Naxx 10/25 Full clear
Ulduar 10/25 13/14
EoE 25
OS2D 10/25
ToC normal, 10/25 5/5
ToC HC 10 man, Jaraxxus and Twins downed (No Beasts yet, but I have plenty of experience with them
ToC HC 25, 0/5 right now
I'm aware i haven't done everything UC has, but I'm a fast learner and I believe I'll adapt to harder content with relative ease.
Time Played with current character: 77 days with Mcjimbo, 38 days with my main alt.
What is your raiding spec? Which statistics have priority on that spec and why? What is your rotation?
I raid in prot whenever possible, but if the situation demmands it, I switch to my dpsing offspecc, arms. My priority is Defence (Untill capped), Stamina, Parry, Dodge, Block, Armour, Str/AP. I chose this priority because obviously there is no point in raiding untill you have the defence cap, otherwise you'll get 1-shotted by a crit. I chose stamina next because I don't think that in the current content avoidance is as important as it used to be ( in the beasts of northrend for example, the impale from p1 can't be avoided so you have to grit your teeth and live through it ). I make up for the normally quite low avoidance by having 2 amazing avoidance trinket: Eitriggs Oath and the Purified Onyxia Blood Talisman. Eitriggs oath provides a massive dodge bonus for 114, putting up dodge by roughly 4% (For all you non tanks, this is a LOT). Onyxia's trinket provides 69 parry (2%, not as much but still good) and 101 Defence (I now don't need defence gems, and defence also increases your other avoidance stats by roughly 2% at this height of points given).
My rotation, for a single boss/mob is this:
Commanding Shout-> Demo Shout-> Sunder Armour up to 5 stacks (with Devestate)-> Shield Slam-> Concussion Blow-> Shockwave-> Thunderclap. After this I generally spam Heroic Strike along with Devestate, putting up buffs/debuffs whenever they dissapear, using Concussion/Shockwave/Thunderclap/Shield Slam whenever they are off cooldown.
What professions you've chosen and why?
Mining 450/450. I chose this because of the nice 60 Stamina Buff, but I'm aware the JC Jewelers Gems give a better buff. I am currently considering going JC instead of mining.
BS 417/450. I'm aware it could be higher, but I have the free sockets for myself which is all I wanted. I will of course cap it if required.
What Glyphs you've chosen and why?
Glyph of Taunt: Increases chance for your taunt to hit by 8%. I chose this because it instantly hit caps your taunt. I'm aware my hit is a little low, but I have the expertise cap, and along with this taunt glyph threat and taunting are no problem, I manage 8k TPS when the boss is attacking me, if not more.
Glyph of Shield Wall: Reduces CD of your Shield Wall ability, but decreases damage reduction by 20%. I chose this in case of emergencies, it might not sound like the optimum choice but you'll have to trust me, it's HUGELY useful in some fights.
Glyph of Blocking: Increase block chance by 10% for 10 seconds after using Shield Slam. I chose this because my block rating is very low, only 13% because I find block fairly useless( it doesn't absorb all damage, parrying/dodging does

). This glyph almost means that block rating is pumped up to 23% because I can constantly keep up the buff, again, very useful for helping healers.
Glyph of Battle (minor). Very sorry I only have this 1 minor glyph, I'm currently trying to find glyph of charge/thunderclap but there are none on the AH... at all. Very annoying, but I have a max inscription friend who will make them for me A.S.A.P.
Choose a fight that you believe is the most optimal for your class and spec and explain why you made this choice:
General Vezax, although I'm sure you casters will disagree with me! I love it because it's fairly simple to tank: just sit there, take the damage, get healed, run away every once in a while and that's all.
Choose a fight that you believe is the least optimal for your class and spec and explain why you made this choice: Faction Champs without a doubt, there's no point in being a tank there because... well you can't tank! As you know, they are taunt immune and have no real threat setup, very stressful for me
Do you have any experience on sidetasks (eg. interrupting or taunting rotation) or you would rather only focus on your main task?
As a tank, you obviously have to be flexible (Boasting a bit here, we tanks aren't that great

). Anyway, as a tank I can do nearly everything (Boast Boast Boast), interrupts, stuns, obviously taunts, kiting, whatever needs doing, so yes I can do sidetasks but I'd prefer to just do my main task, getting beaten up.
List 3 upgrades you're looking at, and explain why you think they are crucial upgrades.
1) Sabatons of the Lingering Vortex (Twins 10 man) or Dawnbreaker Sabatons (Jaraxxus 25 man). Both boots, obviously. I think these are crucial because I'm currently using the EoV boots, level 213. These are currently my lowest, and worst, piece of equipment which I really need to lose
2)Band of the Traitor King (Anub 25). I have the EoT ring, which is good, but I also have the ToC 5 man HC ring. It's quite good because of the socket, but the ring I'm looking at is better by a long way, socket or no socket.
3) Tier 9 Helmet. Much better for warriors than the Vezax 25 man helmet that i currently have. Only 15 EoT (1 full ToC run) away from it, so it shouldn't be too hard to obtain.
Describe the best setup your character needs to reach its full potential.
Assuming you mean class setup, in raids? Forgive me if I'm wrong. I prefer 3+ pallys, a druid and a priest. Another warrior is also quite helpful.
Pallys give BoK (more stam/avoidance) BoM (more threat) and BoS (less damage and rage regen). Druids give mark of the wild, and priests give prayer/blessing of fortitude. A warrior is nice to provide an extra shout and help with sunders if I'm unable to help for some reason.
Which buff(s) scale better with your desired stats?
BoK is my favourite, because it gives a percentage increase, not a fixed amount. I.e it gives 100 stam if I have 1000 base stam, but 150 if I have 1500 stam, etc etc.
How you get informed regarding the changes of your class?: I check MMO Champion frequently and always read the full patch notes.
What mods are you using?
DBM (or bigwigs, if the guild would prefer it)
Omen
EP.GP (you use DKP i believe?)
EP.GP Lootmaster (same thing, just helps if you're lootmaster as the name implies)
Warriorfever.
I don't change my UI because I find the one blizzard provides to be fine, however is there are any tanks out there who use a very good one, I'd be grateful if you could suggest one.
Dual Specc Data
Do you have Dual Specc?
Yes, it's arms as I've said
Are you confident enough about performing on both roles well enough?
Yes, I have a good rotation and talent setup. I do roughly 3k dps, not much compared to some of you guys I'm sure but I didn't get a lot of offspecc gear chances in my last guild.
Will you be willing to swap according to what each fight asks for?
Of course, whatever you guys want
Are you able to provide us with any wws reports of your performance?
Afraid not, they all expired from my last guild.
Thank you very much for reading this hugely long application, I hope you didn't find it TOO boring. Toss me an email at
jadasisgut@googlemail.com
or whisper "mcjimbo" on Nagrand-Eu. I also come on my toon "schneeschnee" on QT every now and again so you can mail or whisper him. If you have ANYTHING you want me to change I'm more than ready to do so.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Regards, Mcjimbo.
